Linlithgow Folk Festival, sat 12 sept allday

The guys kicked of buskin in the streets then onto the open stage in the square which went down well in front on a great crowd, the weather helped it was a scorcher. they then jammed in a couple pubs before a wee break. then onto st Margarets hall to kick of an evening of bluegrass, again great crowd. finishin of a superb but tiring day in the Platfom 3 pub, it was a long day but worth it. We also stummbled across a very talanted lad who sat in and played guitar during the jam sessions,he then asked john if he could have a go with slap bass, Boy could he play, the band have offered him a slot at one of the gigs next month, you gotta see him to belive it. keep you posted when !!!

Behind The Wall,Falkirk,Sat 1st Aug

This was the best gig the guys have had at this venue, the joint was rockin all night long. the two johns were up on the tables again as was some of the crowd,to the dissapointment of the bouncers, they were not to happy with stilletos on the tables, so john was asked to remove his before he got back up, he he!! the band took requests from a vibrant crowd near the end of a fully charged evening and gave the punters what they wanted, only until someone asked for kings of leon, they then ended the night with bad moon rising with luey up on the bass with one scary mask.

The Web. Edinburgh, Sat 27th June

Scotlands premier Rock`N`Roll Club, it was a privalage to be asked to play at an alldayer with The Peas(ayrshire rockabilly trio) and Hi Voltage (scotlands top Rockabilly outfit) at this venue, the guys were the first band on so not as busy as it was late on,but this didnt stop the guys from rockin the joint from the offset with Good Rockin Tonite right thru to there second oncore of Bring My Cadillac Back, hopefully suprised a few with there hi energy set and hope to be back here next year for a gig of there own.

Bar 108 @ The Hilcroft Hotel, Whitburn, Sat 9th May

This was a first for this venue, and a great nite it was. the sound took a wee bit of getting used to due to the low ceilings, the set up wasn't the greatest as the bassman was playing in front of the door, which was difficult for the punters to gain entry, but the good thing was that when you were in you were in for good.A few familiar faces were there and danced all night, the guys are back for Whitburn Gala Day lookin forward to that.

The Four Marys, Linlithgow, Sat 28th Mar.

The Band got of to a late start due to Scotland gettin beat in a world cup qualifier, There spirits were soon rasied as `Uncle Red` ripped it up with some classic tunes and the house was a rockin`. Some new material was played to a packed house and went down really well including a rockabilly take on a `Depeche Mode`number `Pesonal Jesus` which was givin a kck up the arse and was recived well. Back at this venue at the end of April.

The Masons Arms, Bathgate, Sat 28th Feb

Another great nite at this bar, word soon got round that `Uncle Red` were in town as you could not get in the door as the guys ripped into a stunning and vibrant set that had everyone hot under the collar. Hats of to the bar staff who coped well with a bustling crowd and made sure eveyone had there glasses charged for an explosive night. As if it wasnt busy enough the guys done 3 classic `Clash` songs in there own style and the joint erupted with they whole place up dancing, what a riot. cant wait to get back here at the end of next month. Dont miss it !!!!

The Volunteer Arms, Uphall, Sat 24th Jan

Back at this venue due to popular demand, this was one of our best gigs in a long time, the crowd was on top form as the guys went through there set and had the place rockin. John the bassman had his usual hat trick and nearly coped one round the ear with his son Findlay`s polis hat during "I fought the law", what a sream the guy needs put down. audience participation was superb when the guys ran out of songs and took request and played off the cuff, a great nite

Behind The Wall, Falkirk, Fri,9th Jan

first gig of the new year and it could have been better, looks like the festive season and the credit crunch has taken its toll as the venue was the quitest it has been for some time. the band didnt let this faze them as they rock the joint as if it was packed. after a small interlud the word got round town that Uncle Red was in town as they moved in and soon had the place rockin as usual.

Masons Arms, Bathgate, Fri 5th Dec

This is a popular venue for the band and they had another great rockin` nite. the crowd faded near the end of the night as xmas is fast approaching and money is tight, those who left early missed out on a suprise appearance on Slap Bass by Steve From The Buick 55s, John jumped on the Guppie and a melody of jump blues finished of a fun night

The Volunteer Arms, Uphall, Sat 22nd Nov

The guys were on top form at this there first visit to this venue. The locals and the large traveling fan base enjoyed a great nite of non stop rockabilly and classic Rock`n`Roll. The band were joined by Sharpie on drums, a wee bit nervous, but pulled out all the stops on his debut gig with the sticks, and kept the rythm rock steady. This could be a regular venue as it was a great nite enjoyed by all.

The Four Marys,31st october

The Annual Beer Festival was in full swing as the guys rocked the night away, The joint was vibrant and band were on great form with a set that blew everyone away. Great feedback from everyone during the break and Cd sales were up as we sold out on the night. Due back here in new year, after guys have a wee break to sort out some personnel issues.

Platform 3, Linlithgow, Sat 25th oct

Im not saying this is a small venue but.. ive been in bigger women. This Bar has just reclaimed 2nd place in Community pub of the year, and well deserved as the hospitality and atmosphere was warm and welcoming, so to celebrate there success they booked the guys for a great rockin night and they were hotter than the sausage rolls on the buffet. This was the first time at this venue and wont be the last as the crowd and the band loved it.

Glenmavis Tavern(smiths) Bathgate, 10th October

Back at smiths were it all started for Uncle Red They had there debut gig here as a support act, This time the boys were the Main Event with support from local guys Turn Around an authentic sounding trio playin  there tribute to the sun sessions. The night got of to a great start and ended with a energetic version of Goodnight Irene as the guys brought a great night to a close.              This Venue is trying really hard to promote live music in Bathgate and need all the support they can to keep music live so please give them your full support, without places like these we cant spread the word that Rockabilly and Rock`n`Roll is alive and kickin`

Bathgate Music Week Sun 14th Sept, The Liery, Bathgate The Music Festival kicked of with some red hot music and dance from the guys on great form, new addition Eddie on Drums, had a shave kept the sideburns and traded his cord jacket for a levi (good Man). A few stray cats numbers were added to this gig for those who missed fridays gig in Glasgow due to slim jims accident , get well soon.

Linlithgow Festival Sat 13th Sept

The guys went down to linlithgow on sat to the folk festival and made a big impression on the locals. They busked outside in the streets and in variuos inns, when asked if they played folk they told the same to folk off!, We play rockabilly or American folk if you prefer, as this is music made by folk for folk to listen to and dance to ,said big john before they burst into Rock This Town........

The band are on a well deserved break for a few weeks, A new cd has just been cut and will be avaliable at gigs, Hope to see you all soon and Happy Holidays.

The masons Arms, Bathgate, Fri 2nd May

Back at the Masons for another great night of madness and mayhem as the place was mental, but enough about the pub itself the band were on red hot form, they played some new stuff as well as the usual classics, it must have been good as an old pal turned up with his wife and another couple an danced there socks of, his wife asked if we could play here every week as it is the only time she has seen those moves in public. it was good to see you Jim hope you come back again and strut your stuff...

Behind The Wall, Falkirk, Sat 29th March

It was good to be back at this venue again, and the joint was rockin to some classic tunes and great dancing if you missed this gig you will be kickin yourself as the band have rarley been better, even though Big John was nursing a cough and cold they played a storming set that left everyone gagging for more. This is a popular venue for live music, mostly rock and inde bands, but the staff and managemant said Uncle Red are one of the few bands who keep the crowd singing and dancing till the end of the evening so it goes to show tha rock`n`roll music will never die.

Star & Garter Linlithgow, Easter Sunday

First time at this venue, it was a roaring start, slack in the middle and ended up rockin by the end of the night. New drummer Steve settled in really well and showed us that he can nearly dance. Linlithgow is more used to traditonal folk music but the band showed that there brand of American folk music known as rock`n`roll was a welcome change. look out for a revisit to this venue very soon.

The Masons Arms Bathgate, 23rd Feb

Back at the Masons for the guv`nrs Birthday. The joint as packed and the band played classic rockabilly in an Fast and Furious 2 hour set before the disco started and the place died a death, so keep music Live if you want a packed pub. Health and Happiness

First time at this venue, it was a sombre affair, it seems to be a hit or miss for the punters and they missed another fine show by the guys, a big thanks to johns work colleages they seem to have a ball, the band could be back hear in the summer to play outside, as the passing trade would enjoy some jivin music before the head of to the shops on a sat afternoon. we will keep you posted.
